For those visiting
France’s Gourmet Region for the first time Burgundy offers a rare
treat, for those who have visited many times before we are sure you
will find something different.
The variety of
Burgundy is its heart and soul. From bustling towns on market day,
tiny streets running through the middle of a wine village, the
serenity of the Morvan Nature Park with its multitude of streams and
rivers like shimmering veins running through its green body. You
will find villages that time seems to have glanced at and decided
they were perfect so left them alone. Lakes that suddenly appear and
take over the landscape with their sun reflected bodies. You’ll hear
the cry of the buzzard as he shouts out his warning, hey this is my
place, leave it alone, but the cry is not for you. This is the land
that drives poets to pick up their pencils, artists to prepare their
canvas and make sure they have enough shades of green and blue.
In short Burgundy is
what dreams are made of, time slips by unnoticed and then, at the
end of the day a gentle aperitif under a fading sun followed by food
and wine that gets the poets pen moving yet again. Bliss. |
